Basketball Season
Basketball season is underway at LCA for both our boys and girls teams! Make plans to join us this season at LCA or on the road as we make our way towards a winning season!
You can find schedules here:
Thanksgiving Break
LCA will be closed next week for the Thanksgiving Holiday! The school will dismiss at 3:30 pm on the 26th and resume on Monday, December 2nd. We pray you to have a blessed holiday with friends and family!
Science Fair
Once again it is time for our Science Fair for grades 3, 5, 7 & 9!! This year our Science Fair will be held on Tuesday, December 3rd. This is an opportunity for all students to discover the hidden scientist within themselves and to explore those unanswered questions!
__________________
Who: 3rd, 5th, 7th & 9th graders
Date and Location: This year’s fair will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2019, in the LCA gymnasium.
Fair Set-Up: Exhibits should be brought to the school and set up between 8:00 and 8:30 the morning of the fair. All projects must be in place no later than 8:30 am.
Judging: Judging will begin at 8:45 am. Students will be judged on evidence of the use of the scientific method as well as on the student’s own knowledge of his/her experiment. Although parents are encouraged to help their children with the experiments and exhibit display, the student needs full knowledge and understanding of the experiment. The student should be able to fully explain what the experiment was about, how it was performed, the results obtained, and the conclusions of the experiment in relation to their hypotheses. Grade 3 will go through the judging process; however, the students will not be given 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place ribbons. Instead, students will be awarded a special participation ribbon. Third-grade students do not go on to the district but will go through the same procedures so they can prepare for the future.
Parents and Public: The fair will be closed to all, except teachers, judges, and students during the judging period. Exhibits will be open for parents and public viewing on December 3rd from 1:00 to 2:30 pm (after judging is complete).
Removal of Exhibits: All exhibits need to be removed between 3:00 and 3:30 pm on December 3.
Travel Club
Do you love to travel? Do you love to experience new foods, new people, and new cultures? If you said yes we would love to have you join us on our next tour to England! We will be going in the Spring of 2021. If you would like to see the full itinerary, please click on the following link and come join us on a trip of a lifetime!

Traffic Flow
Attached is a flow chart for traffic here at LCA. If you are entering from the west or exiting to go west, please use the west entrance/exit. If you are entering from the east or exiting to go east, please do so using the east entrance/exit. Also, in the mornings, we have a “drive-thru” drop-off zone. This is for parents that are not exiting their car but just dropping off their students at the door. If you plan on getting out of the car with your student, please use the other lane to go around and park your vehicle in the parking spots. We want to keep our kids safe and appreciate you helping us to do so.

Service Hours Opportunities
*Our Residential Homes are in need of twin mattresses and chests of drawers! If you have these items you would like to donate, service hours can be awarded! Please contact Mrs. Miller at Ka[email protected] with questions or to arrange a donation!
*We are looking for people who would be able to help us drive international students to and from doctor’s appointments! Most appointments happen at Utah Orthopedics in South Ogden, near Ogden Regional Hospital, and are scheduled during the day. If you are interested in being on the “on-call list” to help out with this need, please email Mrs. Miller at [email protected]!
*LCA wants to provide a nice Thanksgiving meal for our International Residential Students. If you can help out by donating a large turkey or a ham, we would appreciate it. When you bring in the turkey/ham just bring in the receipt also and you can claim double the amount of hours. (Example: $20 turkey would be worth 4 service hours.) Also, as we get closer and you would like to donate other meal items we will also be appreciative of those: pies, rolls, stuffing, vegetables, etc. We would like all meat donations by Friday, Nov 22. All other items can be dropped off by Tuesday, Nov 26. Thanks so much for all you do!!!
*We are in need of new ADULT-style male twin-size comforters, sheets, and pillows for our International Houses. If you would like to purchase these items for LCA, DOUBLE service hours will be given when you bring in your receipt. (Example: $25 comforter set = 5 service hours.) These items are needed as soon as possible with a deadline of December 13, so please let us know! Contact [email protected] with questions!
*Our International Houses are also in need of upright dressers in good condition. If you have a dresser you would like to donate, service hours can be provided.
