It’s a new season!!
2nd Quarter has begun and fall is in full swing! Did you know LCA has an amazing array of Art Classes offered to Elementary and Secondary students? Mrs. Woodward and Mr. Evertsen do an amazing job with all of our students in teaching so many Art skills and giving them a chance to showcase their talents and abilities! Just this week some of our Secondary students took advantage of the landscape right here around us at LCA! You can see some of our students working with the beautiful view of the mountains changing colors during fall right outside our Art Room walls!
Great job, LCA!

Elementary Reading Program
On Track Reading started this week! There are already some students who have read enough books/minutes to earn prizes!!! If your student hasn’t started to read, it’s not too late! Be sure to have your student turn in their signed reading tracker so they can qualify for prizes and work towards a trophy and certificate when they reach 50 books or 1500 minutes! If you have questions, please contact your student’s teacher.

Parent Teacher Conferences are set for next week. You will receive a link to sign up in the coming days to schedule your virtual meeting with teachers. Keep your eye out for an email with more information soon!

LCA Holiday Needs + Service Hours
I know you think it might be too soon, but the holidays are right around the corner! We have over 200 international residential students currently that we need to provide a nice home cooked Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner for them to share in our traditions in America.
We are asking for your help as you are out and about shopping in the upcoming weeks and months. We will provide double service hours if you bring in the receipt for your purchase. Example: Donate a turkey that costs $25 and you would receive 5 service hours($50). Most of our houseparents will cook all of the items that you bring, but we would also accept the help of you cooking it in advance and dropping off that morning if you want to go the extra mile.
You can sign up to bring items HERE!
All (non-precooked) items for Thanksgiving would be needed by November 18 so we know what we would still need to purchase. If you are bringing fresh food (pies, breads, etc) or you want to prepare cooked items-please drop off on Wednesday, Nov 23 by 5pm.) We will do another follow up for the Christmas meal also.
This is very important to the kids and all our houseparents and a great way for you to earn easy service hours! Again, please email me if you are able to donate and what you will be able to bring.
Thanks again! We appreciate all you do to help us.
LCA After School Needs + Service Hours
LCA is in need of the following items to help with our after school programs. If you have any at home that are in good shape and complete and are willing to donate because you aren’t using them anymore, we’d really appreciate it. If you buy new and want to donate we can offer service hours in trade for the receipt amount. Please drop off in Main Office.

Service Hours
Services Hours must be completed by each family at LCA throughout the year. There are many ways to find opportunities for Service Hours and Thursday Notes are a great location to find those each week! You can also check with your student’s teacher, coaches etc about any opportunities they might have or know of!

If you are walking your student inside, you will continue to park in the spaces provided. To drop off at the door, please follow the lane provided through the parking lot to ensure safety for all students!
